Personalized bride Owala FreeSip engraved with Future Mrs.

Bridesmaid proposal gifts they will actually keep

A proposal box is four small things that each cost a little. A robe worn once for a photo. A tote. A candle. A tumbler with a vinyl name that starts lifting at the corner by the second wash. Put the same money into one engraved cup per person and you get something still in use after the wedding.

Why engraved and not printed

The name is cut into the cup with a laser. It is not vinyl and not a sticker. There is no layer sitting on top of the metal, so there is nothing to peel or fade.

The laser removes the powder coat and exposes the metal underneath. That is why the mark comes out in the color of that bare metal, silver on most cups. You are not choosing a text color. You are choosing the cup, and the name shows up in the metal.

Text is engraved exactly as typed, capitals and all, so proof every name before you order. On the products that offer a font there are 14 choices, Graduate and Black Ops at one end, script faces like Sacramento and Lavishly Yours at the other. The Bride Owala, the wedding Frost Buddy and the Mr. & Mrs. Stanley come with their design already set, so there is no font to pick on those. You type the name and that is the whole decision.

Placement is a separate control, and only a couple of products carry it. On the plain Frost Buddy Universal you can put the engraving back vertical, back horizontal, front vertical or front horizontal. Back vertical is the default. Everything else below has its position set for you.

The bride

Everyone else's cup says their name. Hers can say what is happening. The Bride Owala FreeSip engraved with Future Mrs. is $43.99, and the design is fixed, so the only thing you supply is the name. If she would rather have her own name on it than the title, the plain Owala FreeSip starts at $43.99 and comes in 24, 32 and 40 oz across 14 colors.

The bachelorette trip

Mini tumbler shot glasses are 2 oz and $12.99. Engrave a different name on each one and the rental kitchen counter stops filling with identical abandoned glasses. It is also the cheapest way to give everyone in the group their own engraved thing, which matters when the group is eight people and not three.

When the party is mixed

Not every group drinks out of a tumbler. The wedding Frost Buddy Universal is $30.99 and suits a party where half the people are holding a can. Its wedding design is already drawn, so you add the names and nothing else. Without that design, the plain Frost Buddy Universal also starts at $30.99, and the 3-in-1 can cooler is $29.99 and takes cans, slim cans and bottles. Frost Buddy recommends hand washing the Universal.

Something for the couple

The Mr. & Mrs. wedding Stanley starts at $53.99 in 30 oz and 40 oz. The 30 oz holds ice 40 hours and weighs 1.1 lbs. The 40 oz holds ice two days and weighs 1.4 lbs. Both are 90% recycled 18/8 stainless steel with double-wall vacuum insulation, a screw-on 3-position lid, a reusable straw, a comfort-grip handle and a 3.1 inch base that fits a car cup holder. The layout is set, so you type the two names. Buy it as a pair when the gift is from the whole party rather than from one person.

One design across the group

Names on separate cups is the usual way to do it. Sometimes you want the opposite: the same design on all of them, with only the name changing. A date. A monogram. A drawing somebody in the group made.

That is a bulk and logo order, and there is no minimum, so eight cups is a valid request. You get a price and a digital proof back, and nothing goes on the laser until you approve the proof. The quote form cannot take attachments, so send artwork by replying to the quote email. AI, SVG, EPS or a high-resolution PNG works best.

On the products that take your own text rather than a set design, you can also upload a logo yourself in .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .svg or .pdf, and choose text, logo, or text and logo together.

What it costs to get them there

Orders over $99 ship free, standard. Under $99 is $9.95 flat rate ground. Three Owalas clear the free shipping line, so a set of bottles for a full party ships free. A tray of shot glasses can land under the line, so check the cart total before you assume. Shipping goes anywhere in the US, Alaska and Hawaii included. Heavier orders and Express are priced at checkout.

Everything is engraved in-house in Jacksonville, Florida and shipped nationwide.

The part worth slowing down on is spelling. Engraving is permanent, so a name that goes in wrong stays wrong, and a bridesmaid will notice the missing second N in Jenn for the rest of the weekend. Read each name back against how that person writes it themselves, then submit. If the group is getting one shared design instead of one name each, ask for a quote and catch it on the proof instead. And if you want to see how a finished engraving reads on a real cup, the customer photo gallery is the closest thing to holding one.
